Rally Dakar 2010: $570,000 in Damages
Despite great efforts and planning on behalf of the major racing organizations to clean up the damage and image, it’s sometimes hard to stop damages from happening. Besides the emissions that come from these races, this years rally events caused $570,000 in damage to 56 of the countries 111 heritage sites. Even further 13 of these sites lost archeological data. This happens all the time and they continually make efforts to reduce the damages, but alas they still happen. Even worse this damage is expected and drawn up in a report that each site monitors.
