Sanlorenzo 44 Steel Yacht: Precious Metal

Luxury items have always been associated with exotic materials and of course, astronomical price tags. In the wake of the carbon fiber/exotic material mania, steel has been forgotten, until now. Sanlorenzo Yachts will launch the 44 Steel, and you guessed it right, they’ll be using steel for the hull. This 44 meter (~144 feet) yacht has three main decks and five rooms for the owner and his guests. Two Caterpillar diesels power the 44 Steel to speeds up to 17 knots with a 12 knot cruising speed. The rooms are built with a box-in-box construction making it vibration and noise-free. The master cabin runs the full beam of the yacht, some 9 meters of comfort with its own office, bathroom, and walk-in closet. On the upper deck is a 12-14 seat dining table, a full bar, L-shaped couch, and a sun deck. The yacht offers excellent views no matter where you’re sitting, standing, or lounging. $TBA.
